Android drone controllers

On Android drone controllers, the pilot device can run Controller Screen Capture. The controller’s native flight app handles flight control while AlphaRelay captures the controller screen, streams it to the active mission, records controller-screen footage, and logs events. On a detected DJI SDK-controller setup, AlphaRelay also presents Pilot mode. It remains locked until the operator confirms a listed DJI MSDK 5.17 aircraft and AlphaRelay verifies a live flight-controller connection. Pilot mode lets AlphaRelay own the DJI SDK connection and present direct flight and camera controls; availability still depends on the aircraft, controller, payload, firmware, and field validation. For a DJI Avata with compatible DJI Goggles, the pilot operates through the goggles and their compatible controller. A separate Android phone or tablet runs DJI Fly and AlphaRelay Goggles Mode to relay and record the goggles live view.

iPhone and iPad

On iOS 26, AlphaRelay Copilot uses ReplayKit to capture the selected display or flight app. The flight app remains responsible for aircraft control. Copilot publishes remote live, records footage, logs screenshot-backed quick, manual, and Relay voice events, and uses durable queues when connectivity is interrupted.

Secondary mission viewer

On a licensed Android device, tap View Live Mission. On iPhone or iPad, tap Watch Live Mission. The viewer shows remote video when available, refreshes the live timeline and alerts, and can log scenario quick events or manual events. It cannot start missions, control aircraft, or perform closed-mission review.

Key rules

  • Missions always start from Copilot’s Start Mission workflow, not Mission Overwatch or Mission Viewer.
  • The startup action is Choose Scenario. Select the current operator when the agency roster is available; AlphaRelay attributes the mission and field-created events to that person.
  • Open missions from Mission Dashboard (link may say Open Mission Console).
  • Copilot presents one Start Mission action and starts remote live automatically when validated internet is available.
  • Mission Overwatch Mission tools remain available for active Internet missions, including quick events, typed manual events, and browser dictation.
  • Local Network is a deployment-specific Android LAN relay path and is not presented by the current public Copilot workflow.
  • Controller Screen Capture is automatic on integrated Android drone controllers and the recommended default on detected DJI SDK-controller setups; it is not a separate mission button.
  • Pilot mode is an explicit alternative on eligible DJI SDK-controller setups and requires supported-aircraft confirmation plus a successful live connection check.
  • Goggles Mode starts a mission automatically when a prepared Android device detects compatible DJI Goggles over USB.
  • Mission Viewer requires internet and a separate valid Copilot license; only active missions in that license’s organization appear.
