AlphaRelay helps teams run drone or field missions and produce a defensible record afterward. AlphaRelay Operator runs on Android phones and controllers, iPhones, and iPads. It starts missions, records video, and logs events while the DJI, Skydio, or other flight app continues to fly the aircraft. Video can come from the controller screen, a video QR code or web link, the controller’s built-in livestream feature, or an HDMI capture card. A second licensed phone or tablet can watch the mission and add events. Mission Overwatch is the browser workspace where command staff watch live video, add events, review footage, prepare after-action reports, preserve evidence, and export mission packages.

Basic flow

  1. Start a live mission from AlphaRelay Operator.
  2. Watch live and log command-side events in Mission Overwatch when the pilot device is online.
  3. End the mission when field work is complete.
  4. Upload and review footage.
  5. Generate the after-action report, seal evidence, and export.

Mission connectivity

The current public Operator workflow does not show a Local Network mission button. A same-Wi-Fi viewing option may still appear in older or agency-specific Android builds, but it is separate from the normal public workflow. On Android drone controllers, Operator uses Controller Screen Capture by default. The controller’s normal flight app keeps flight control while AlphaRelay captures the screen, sends it into the mission, and records one continuous video. On supported DJI equipment, a listed and connected aircraft can instead unlock Pilot mode for direct AlphaRelay flight controls. When AlphaRelay cannot be installed on the controller, scan or paste its authorized Video Link. You can also use the controller’s livestream settings—Custom RTMP on DJI or RTSP External Server on Skydio—or connect its HDMI port through a standard USB capture card. You do not need to understand those abbreviations; AlphaRelay shows the exact fields to copy. See Video Link and Controller Livestream and HDMI Capture. On iPhone and iPad, Operator can use Apple’s Screen Recording picker for Controller Screen, open a Video Link, or receive a controller livestream. A USB-C iPad can also use an HDMI Capture Card. An iPhone cannot receive video from a USB HDMI capture card. With a DJI Avata and compatible DJI Goggles, AlphaRelay uses Goggles Mode on a separate Android device. DJI Fly displays the goggles live view, AlphaRelay starts a mission with no scenario, and the goggles with their compatible controller remain responsible for the aircraft. Most live missions start from Operator. Command Center can also create Controller Livestream with New Livestream or browser HDMI capture with New HDMI mission, then continue setup in Mission Overwatch. For work that already happened outside AlphaRelay, Import mission creates a closed post-flight record. Live AI follows the agency’s settings for that mission. Supported devices may use online checks with a basic device backup, or agency-enabled on-device checks. If Hybrid cloud review is offered and selected, online review supplements the on-device checks.
