Footage often uploads after the mission when the pilot device or Overwatch browser regains internet. Queued uploads are normal, not errors.

Automatic upload

After mission closeout, AlphaRelay Copilot attempts to upload recorded footage when online. Pending videos are stored in a durable device queue and retry when connectivity returns, including after the app restarts. Watch for upload banners, Upload now, or Loading playback link status in Mission Overwatch. In Controller Screen Capture, AlphaRelay records one continuous controller-screen MP4 for the mission and queues it after closeout. On iOS, ReplayKit likewise finalizes the capture recording before handoff. Keep the device powered on and Copilot available while closeout finishes; do not force-stop or uninstall it while queued footage remains. In Goggles Mode, AlphaRelay finalizes an MP4 from the DJI Fly live-view frames captured during the mission and queues it after Stop Mission. The durable queue resumes when connectivity returns. Add the original DJI Avata camera file as an optional recording if the mission needs the raw aircraft view. When Android Copilot opens with queued mission video, its startup panel shows the queue and upload progress. Let the upload finish when possible. Use Skip for now and start new mission only if field work must begin immediately; the queued work remains pending. On iOS, use Sync pending items or Sync now and keep Copilot open during final handoff.

Add an optional recording

Mission Overwatch accepts MP4 and MOV recordings from an aircraft, goggles screen, or another external source:
  1. Copy the recording from the aircraft, goggles device, or computer.
  2. Open the closed mission in Mission Overwatch.
  3. Go to Media → Mission footage.
  4. Under Optional source, choose Aircraft original, Goggles screen recording, or Other external recording.
  5. Click Add optional recording and select the MP4 or MOV file.
  6. After upload, use Align with AlphaRelay capture… or Align with primary video… to match a shared moment. Suggest from recording times can provide a starting offset when both files contain usable recording timestamps.
In Controller Screen Capture and Goggles Mode, AlphaRelay’s captured screen remains the primary mission timeline even if an optional file uploads first. An aircraft or goggles recording can begin before or after the AlphaRelay mission; align the shared content rather than assuming both files started together. Tap Skip during auto upload if you plan to upload manually later.

Import external mission footage

If the mission did not start in AlphaRelay, use Mission DashboardMission HistoryImport mission. The import flow creates a closed mission record, uploads selected MP4 footage and photos, then opens Mission Overwatch on the Media tab. Use Add optional recording and Upload Photos afterward if any media needs to be added or retried. The initial Import mission form currently accepts MP4 footage; add a MOV after the mission opens in Mission Overwatch.

Mission photos

Use Mission photos / Upload Photos to add timeline photos or evidence-only photos with caption, category, and notes.
Do not force-stop or uninstall Copilot while its queue is pending. Keep a browser tab open for browser-initiated uploads; manual browser uploads do not use the device background queue.
