When Operational Map is enabled for your organization, AlphaRelay can show the mission pilot, remote viewers, and other selected personnel on the mission map. These positions come from licensed Android or iOS devices. They do not identify a person by face, fingerprint, or other physical trait, and they do not show the aircraft’s location.
Treat every map position as advisory. The displayed identity is the person selected on the licensed device, not an independently verified identity. Confirm identity and location through normal operational channels.

Before sharing

  • Select the person using the Operator device.
  • Allow Precise Location. Allow background location when the operating system requests it so sharing can continue while the flight app is in front.
  • Keep internet available for live map updates. AlphaRelay can hold eligible points securely during a temporary interruption and retry when connectivity returns.
  • Confirm the live mission that should receive the location.

Start and stop sharing

Location sharing starts automatically for the selected pilot when that device starts a mission. It also starts for the selected person when a licensed Android or iOS device joins through View Live Mission. To share without opening Mission Viewer, tap Share Location on a supported Android phone/tablet or iPhone/iPad, choose the live mission, and confirm the selected person. Tap Stop Sharing at any time. Android drone-controller layouts keep the status inside the active mission instead of showing the standalone home-screen action. If location access is off during an active Android mission, tap the Location sharing · Precise Location required status to grant access. On iOS, follow the system prompts for precise location while Operator or another app is open. A sharing session can remain active for up to 12 hours, but ending the mission or tapping Stop Sharing ends that device’s session sooner.

View the live map

  • In Mission Overwatch, open Mission sidebar → Map when the tab is available. Browser access is limited to authorized supervisory roles.
  • In Android or iOS Mission Viewer, open Nearby map / Map for the selected mission.
  • Use People on map to hide or show individual people. Selecting a roster entry focuses that person and their matching trail; select it again to return to the full mission view.
The mission pilot has a distinct marker. Other devices can appear as selected personnel or Remote viewer. Old or unavailable positions look different from a current position. If the map background cannot load, AlphaRelay keeps the personnel list when possible.

After the mission

AlphaRelay saves the location trail with the mission. When sharing stops, it creates a standard map file and records a digital fingerprint so later changes can be detected. The saved trail appears beneath the closed-mission Timeline. If no valid locations were recorded, AlphaRelay does not show an empty post-mission map. An active route, or a route that has not finished saving, blocks Seal entire mission. Wait for it to finish or use the available retry action before sealing.
