Sealing locks reviewed custody evidence and hashes. It is separate from supervisor report approval.
Sealing ≠ approving the report. Sealing preserves custody hashes. Approval locks the after-action report and timeline.
When to seal
After footage, events, photos, and the report draft have been reviewed and Items Requiring Officer Review are resolved.
Steps
- Open the closed mission.
- Confirm footage plays and Play with Events markers look correct.
- Open Mission chain of custody.
- Click Seal entire mission (verify downloads) when ready.
- Optionally download Download mission custody certificate (HTML).
Sealing verifies downloaded bytes against stored hashes and locks registered evidence rows in the custody ledger.
Export evidence package (JSON)
For a machine-readable, court-ready bundle with cryptographic chain verification:
- Open Mission chain of custody.
- Click Export evidence package (JSON) on an evidence item.
Use this when your agency needs JSON rather than (or in addition to) the HTML custody certificate or offline ZIP.
