1. Set up devices

Install AlphaRelay Operator and activate it on each Android device, iPhone, or iPad that your team will use. Sign in to the web app and open Mission Overwatch once on each field laptop or tablet while it has internet. If AlphaRelay cannot run on the flight controller, prepare its video QR code or web link, its built-in livestream setting, or an HDMI capture card. → Devices and licenses · Before you go to the field

2. Start a mission

Start most missions in Operator. Tap Start Mission, choose where the video will come from, then select the operator and enter the mission name, scenario, AI watch items, and alert choices. Android can capture the controller screen, open a Video Link, receive a controller livestream or HDMI capture card, and use Pilot mode on supported DJI equipment. iPhone and iPad can capture the screen, open a Video Link, or receive a controller livestream; a USB-C iPad can also receive HDMI. The browser Dashboard can start New Livestream or New HDMI mission. 3. Watch and log events

Open the active mission in Mission Overwatch. The live video stays on screen while the Mission sidebar gives you Timeline, Events, Ask AI, an optional Map, and setup for livestream or HDMI missions. Ask AI checks one current picture—not the entire live feed—so verify every answer against the video. A second licensed phone or tablet can watch, add quick or manual events, ask about its current picture, and share the officer’s location when enabled. Authorized team members can also create a read-only public QR code. AI alerts are review prompts, not confirmed facts. The Command Center places active missions, remote-viewing or upload problems, automatic alerts awaiting review, and report follow-ups in one Attention queue. 4. Review the mission

End the mission and let footage finish uploading. Then work through Timeline → Media → AI Review → Report, using Done — continue after each step. Review each alert and AI suggestion against the original video. Accept only findings that belong in the official record; dismiss the rest. Use Event-focused to check video around known events, or Full mission — detailed for a longer review of the available mission video. AlphaRelay emails you when the review finishes. For work recorded outside AlphaRelay, use Import mission. 5. Complete the record

Generate the after-action report with AI drafting when configured, resolve Items Requiring Officer Review, and use Mark complete after every listed item has been addressed. Seal entire mission verifies and seals only evidence included in the AAR Chain of Custody. Excluded screenshots remain retained but unsealed. Sealing evidence and supervisor approval are separate steps. Sealing preserves evidence digital fingerprints. Submitting the report locks timeline, media, mission-name, and AI-review changes while a supervisor decides; approval makes that lock permanent.

AI across the workflow

  • During an active remote stream, AI live watch samples frames and logs possible threat indicators for officer review.
  • Live AI follows the agency’s settings for that mission. Supported devices may use online checks with a basic device backup, or agency-enabled on-device checks. If Hybrid cloud review is offered and selected, online review supplements the on-device checks. See Live AI alerts and confirm the active status before flight.
  • For an AI live-watch or Device Live AI alert, choose Approve alert to allow screenshot review when enabled for the mission and report eligibility, or Dismiss alert to exclude it. Then review any resulting analysis with Accept as is or Review & edit.
  • Online checks coordinate to reduce duplicate alerts. Agency-enabled on-device checks can continue independently; follow the status shown on the mission.
  • After a closed mission reaches the agency account, AI Review looks for the items selected by the officer using Event-focused or Full mission — detailed coverage. Event-focused review checks sections of the original video around accepted events; it does not use the event screenshots as a substitute for video. Full-mission review checks the combined time covered by the selected recordings and favors the clearest or original recording when videos overlap. AlphaRelay then compares possible findings with evidence screenshots before presenting them for officer review.
  • Inside AI Review, Ask AI answers mission-specific questions from the selected main uploaded recording and shows its confidence, supporting observations, limitations, and supporting evidence. It remains view-only after approval while the approved record remains locked against changes.
AI output is draft material. Verify every alert, finding, and answer against the live view or source media before using it in an operational decision, report, or evidence workflow. Official event counts and evidence surfaces include every undeleted human-created event, approved automatic alerts, and officer-reviewed AI findings. Pending or dismissed automatic alerts and accepted AI Review findings without Timeline officer review remain review material only.
