Field-device mission

Use when one pilot captures the mission and local relay viewing is not needed.
  • Available on cellular or Wi‑Fi
  • Mission Overwatch is used mainly after the mission for review, reporting, and export
  • Remote live still works when the pilot starts Live stream (WebRTC) from the app
Best for: solo operations, offline field work, missions reviewed later.

Relay mission

Use when Mission Overwatch must connect to the pilot device during the mission over the local network.
  • Requires Wi‑Fi on the pilot device (not cellular-only)
  • Shows Live Overwatch Screen in Mission Overwatch for LAN video, telemetry, and command-side logging
  • Remote live can run at the same time when configured
Best for: command-side viewing, live event logging from the browser, team monitoring from a local overwatch position.

Both modes can live stream over the internet. The difference is whether Mission Overwatch also needs the local relay connection during the mission.
